Mainstreet Partners publishes its 2017 Impact Report

  • Assets under advisement increased by 57% compared to 2016
  • MainStreet Partners successfully executed more than 150 sustainable and impact investments in funds, equities and thematic bonds.
  • These objectives have been achieved across six investment themes: financial services, climate change, food, healthcare, housing and education.
  • MainStreet Partners aligned its investments to 14 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

London, 8th June 2018 – MainStreet Partners, a specialist sustainable and impact investment firm established in 2008 which offers bespoke portfolio solutions within the sustainable investments market and the impact investing market, announces the publication of its 2017 Impact Report. The Report highlights the social and environmental results achieved by MainStreet Partners through the investments executed with its clients and classified according to six investment themes: financial services, climate change, food, healthcare, housing and education. MainStreet Partners’ environmental and social results contribute to the achievement of 14 SDGs.

MainStreet Partners’ assets under advisement increased 57% year on year, reaching EUR 342 million, thanks also to a supportive market environment characterized by a growing demand for sustainable investments. This figure demonstrates the growth of MainStreet Partners’ activities and represents a further sign of confidence from MainStreet Partners’ clients to create and launch new products and investment services with clear financial, social and environmental goals.

In 2017, MainStreet Partners’ investments achieved the following results:

  • 54,000 loans to micro entrepreneurs;
  • More than 69,000 tons of CO2 emissions reduced;
  • More than 85 million organic meals provided;
  • More than 106,000 high risk patients treated;
  • 130 social housing units built;
  • 184 low-income students

For this reason, we calculated the results generated for each EUR 1 million invested”. For every EUR 1 million equally allocated across MainStreet Partners’ assets, investors achieve the following results: 209 loans to micro entrepreneurs, 292 tons of CO2 emissions reduced, 8,701 organic meals provided, 325 high risk patients treated, 2 social housing units built and 5 low-income students enrolled.

Among the impact investments executed in 2017:

  • Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, social bond: issued in November 2017, the bond will finance more than 11,000 small and medium-sized businesses located in economically underperforming regions and regions affected by natural disasters;
  • Fondo Mivivienda, thematic bond: created in 1999, Fondo Mivivienda has facilitated access to housing to more than 80,000 Peruvian families through the issuance of multiple bonds;
  • Novo Nordisk, listed equity: the company is the leader in the production, distribution, research and development of innovative biological medicines to fight diabetes and other chronic diseases, making these treatments accessible to patients everywhere in the world;
  • PureCircle, listed equity: founded in 2002, the company is the leading producer of stevia, a natural low-calorie sweetener which has eliminated 1.3 trillion calories from global diets.

Il Report evidenzia i risultati sociali e ambientali generati dagli investimenti che MainStreet Partners ha effettuato insieme ai suoi clienti, classificati in base a sei temi d’investimento: servizi finanziari, cambiamento climatico, alimentazione, salute, housing sociale ed istruzione. I risultati ambientali e sociali di MainStreet Partners contribuiscono attivamente al raggiungimento di 14 obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile (SDGs).

In un contesto di mercato favorevole e segnato dalla crescente domanda di investimenti sostenibili, gli assets under advisement di MainStreet Partners sono cresciuti del 57% rispetto all’anno precedente, raggiungendo i 342 milioni di Euro. Questo dato dimostra la crescita delle attività di MainStreet Partners e rappresenta un ulteriore segnale di fiducia da parte dei clienti con i quali nel 2017 MainStreet Partners ha lavorato alla creazione e lancio di nuovi prodotti e servizi d’investimento con chiari obiettivi finanziari, sociali ed ambientali.

In particolare, nel 2017 gli investimenti di MainStreet Partners hanno contribuito a realizzare i seguenti risultati:

  • 54 mila finanziamenti concessi a micro e piccole imprese;
  • Riduzione di oltre 69 mila tonnellate di CO2;
  • Oltre 1 milione 850 mila pasti biologici prodotti;
  • Oltre 106 mila trattamenti medici somministrati a pazienti a rischio;
  • 130 unità abitative consegnate a cittadini appartenenti alle fasce più deboli;
  • Sostegno a 184 studenti a basso reddito.

 

L’obiettivo di MainStreet Partners è quello di offrire agli investitori un accesso semplice e trasparente a strumenti diretti ed indiretti con rendimenti finanziari a mercato migliorando al tempo stesso la vita delle persone e proteggendo il pianeta. “Per noi è fondamentale dare agli investitori la piena visibilità rispetto ai risultati sociali ed ambientali raggiunti – spiega Rodolfo Fracassi, co-fondatore e Managing Director di MainStreet Partners. Per ogni milione di euro investito con MainStreet Partners, si contano 209 finanziamenti a micro e piccole imprese, 292 tonnellate di CO2 eliminate, 8.701 pasti biologici prodotti, 325 trattamenti medici a pazienti in condizioni critiche, 2 unità abitative costruite per cittadini delle fasce più deboli e 5 studenti a basso reddito finanziati.

Tra gli investimenti ad impatto realizzati nel 2017 possiamo annoverare:

  • Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, social bond: emessa a novembre 2017, l’obbligazione finanzierà oltre 11 mila piccole e medie imprese localizzate nelle aree italiane economicamente meno sviluppate del paese o colpite da calamità naturali;
  • Fondo Mivivienda, bond tematico: creato nel 1999, Fondo Mivivienda ha agevolato e finanziato l’accesso ai servizi abitativi di base a più di 80 mila famiglie peruviane attraverso l’emissione di obbligazioni;
  • Novo Nordisk, titolo azionario: il core business della società è la produzione, la distribuzione e la ricerca e sviluppo di farmaci per la cura del diabete e di altre malattie croniche o legate all’obesità, rendendo accessibili le cure ai pazienti di tutto il mondo;
  • PureCircle, titolo azionario: fondata nel 2002, l’azienda è leader mondiale nella produzione di stevia, un dolcificante ipocalorico naturale che ha permesso l’eliminazione di 1,3 mila miliardi di calorie nelle diete globali.
