Over the past 16 years Golden Lane Housing (GLH) has been working to improve the life of people with disabilities by finding them homes across England and Wales, and adapting these homes to their needs. Housing and personal care is provided separately to ensure disabled people can make choices about where, how and with whom they wish to live. Over that time GLH have acquired a portfolio of 415 properties plus further 297 leased properties.

To finance part of its growth in June 2014 GLH issued its first bond listed on the London Stock Exchange in a ground-breaking deal that offers investors the possibility to put their savings at work by seeking a financial return and realize a tangible social impact. Thanks to the GBP 11 million raised via this bond GLH bought and adapted 28 high quality homes for over 100 people with a learning disability in their communities, supported by Mencap.
